Super Bowl Recap

Well, that was a crazy weekend.

As some of you know Livefyre and The New York Times teamed up to power a live chat during Super Bowl Sunday. Although only a few of us were happy with the outcome (ME), everyone was thrilled with the quality and consistency of our real-time conversation. A sentiment shared by the NYT audience and summarized lovingly by one commenter:

“First time I’ve ever stuck with live, online conversation from beginning to end of an event. Thanks for keeping me interested.”

From kickoff to confetti, the dashboard was a huge success. Here are some stats:

  • 144,000 live streams delivered
  • 95,000 unique users
  • 57,000 signed in users (NYT or Facebook)
  • 6,627 concurrent listeners
  • 2,597 total comments
  • 542 active users
  • Median activity: 1 comment every 4 seconds
  • Peak activity: 2 comments per second between Bradshaw’s touchdown and Brady’s hail mary

So, what’s next? Good question. Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be announcing some really exciting new business wins. In addition, we’re looking forward to refining our live widget and completely owning your second screen (more on that later).

Did you participate in our live chat? What did you think? Hit us up.
